On Friday, officers were called to Saint Agnes Hospital, where the child was taken after being struck in the leg by a bullet, and they spoke with the victim’s father and babysitter, causing some confusion.

The babysitter said that early on Friday, Aug. 11, she was at Druid Hill Park near the pool and playground area with the child when reportedly gunshots rang out. At that point she said she noticed the boy’s leg was bleeding.

According to investigators, she took the boy to the 2400 block of Baker Street, his mother’s home, and dropped the child off to his father.

Things get murky from there.

The father alleges that he called for an ambulance to the home, but stated medics referred the father to a walk-in clinic. The father and sitter allegedly brought the victim to a Patient First in Baltimore County.

Investigators say that Patient First then advised the two to take the child to Saint Agnes Hospital.

Officials noted that "all of the alleged statements are unverified and part of the investigation."

The preliminary investigation is indicating that the incident may have taken place inside the house in the 2400 block of Baker Street, according to the Baltimore Police Department, though it remains under investigation.
